The folding chair is often a neglected object that is hidden or even kept away. The chair we do not give to our guests. The idea was to take it on a new perspective and build a comfortable chair, on which people would want to sit on. Here, padding isn’t used but tissue tension and entanglement create the visual illusion of a soft cushion, giving the chair a comfortable and light look. It’s made out of beech wood and canvas cotton, two simple and affordable materials. The object is less polluting, lighter and more affordable this way.
